Description
This is a matched pair of natural lime tourmalines with a combined weight of 42.08 carats, each cut as an antique cushion. Their colour is a vivid yellowish-green—a “lime” hue—with medium saturation and a medium-light tone, the kind of bright, lively green that holds its colour well in both daylight and indoor light. The stones measure 16.28 × 16.16 × 11.33 mm and 16.82 × 16.02 × 11.47 mm, so they are closely matched not only in colour but in size and proportion. Pairing two tourmalines that agree this precisely across hue, tone and dimensions is far harder than finding a single fine stone, and it is what makes a true matched pair ready for symmetrical designs such as earrings or coordinated accent stones.
Each stone combines a brilliant-faceted crown with a modified step-cut pavilion. The brilliant crown adds liveliness and return of light across the top of the stone, while the step-cut pavilion gives depth and lets the green read as full and even—a hybrid that balances sparkle against body colour rather than favouring one. Tourmaline sits at 7–7.5 on the Mohs scale and takes an excellent polish, so the stones are durable and bright enough for regular wear once set.
Both stones are certified by Lotus Gemology, a laboratory widely regarded as a leading authority on coloured stones, confirming their natural identity. With their matched colour and dimensions, considered faceting and independent certification, the pair suits a high-end bespoke commission—earrings or a coordinated suite—as readily as it does a collection.
