The Rolex Day-Date 40 Ref. 228235-0025 is the brand’s flagship, known the world over as the “President”. Its 40 mm case and fluted bezel are wrought in Rolex‘s proprietary 18 ct Everose gold — a patented rose-gold alloy whose warm hue never fades with time. The model is completed by the legendary President bracelet in the same gold, with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
The watch’s defining feature is its rich olive-green dial with a sunray finish, shifting in tone as the light changes. It is set with applied Roman numerals in Everose gold, while the signature day aperture at 12 o’clock and date at 3 o’clock, magnified by the Cyclops lens, complete the unmistakable Day-Date profile. The pairing of warm rose gold with deep green makes this one of the most expressive references in the collection.
The watch is driven by Rolex‘s in-house calibre 3255, with a 70-hour power reserve, Superlative Chronometer status and −2/+2 seconds-per-day precision. Water resistance is 100 metres, within an Oyster case with a screw-down crown and the Twinlock system. It is supplied complete with its Rolex box and papers, and comes with a warranty.
