Description
A pair of ear clips in 18K yellow gold, made to the same design as the collar they accompany. Each one carries a polished tourmaline bead, held between gold caps and hanging free below the clip, so the drop swings as the head moves.
The bead is left as a smooth rounded form rather than faceted — a treatment that suits tourmaline, which shows its colour better through a polished surface than through cut facets, and which keeps the stone soft against the worked gold of the fitting. It is the same reasoning behind the fluted plaques of the necklace: Bulgari using hardstone for volume and colour rather than for brilliance.
