Description
A pair of ear clips built as oval domes of polished gold, each one carrying a sapphire cabochon at the centre. The cabochon is cut without facets, as a smooth rounded dome, which is how sapphire is treated when the intention is depth of colour rather than sparkle — the blue reads as a solid body of colour, not as a scatter of flashes.
Around each cabochon a crescent of round brilliant diamonds sweeps to one side, breaking the symmetry deliberately. Had the diamonds circled the stone entirely, the clips would read as conventional halos; the partial arc gives each one a direction and makes the pair sit on the ear with movement rather than as two static discs.
A plain raised rim closes the design at the edge, holding dome, stone and diamond arc within a single clean outline. The clips are signed Bulgari.
