Description
A pair of long drop earrings set with lagoon tourmalines, the blue-green variety that sits between the deep teal of indicolite and the electric tone of copper-bearing material. Each earring falls as an articulated line of oval stones, graduating in size as it descends, so the drop tapers and moves with the wearer rather than hanging as a rigid bar.
The stones are held in links pavé-set with white diamonds, which do two things at once: they connect the ovals into a flexible chain and they put a line of white light between each colour stone, so the blues read separately instead of merging into one mass. The line ends in a larger oval framed by a double halo of diamonds — two concentric rows, which widens the base of the drop and gives the design a clear finish rather than letting it taper away to nothing.
The mounts are platinum throughout. Ten tourmalines in all, stated at 15.75 carats together, with a further 2.08 carats of white diamonds in the settings.
