Description
Van Cleef & Arpels created this bracelet in the 1960s, when Parisian haute joaillerie was experiencing a new golden age and gold itself found sculptural expressiveness. The articulated band in yellow gold is worked with interlacing rope and lanceolate leaf motifs recalling a living woven cloth, with brilliant-cut diamonds and rubies placed as points of light across the surface.
The bracelet is signed “V.C.A”, and bears the maker’s mark of jeweller André Vassort — a craftsman who worked to commission for the leading houses of the Place Vendôme. It is preserved in its original midnight-blue Van Cleef & Arpels canvas case.
At 17.7 cm and 58.4 g, this is a collector-grade object in every sense: signed, numbered, and in its original case.
