Sotheby’s will be auctioning a collection of Dame Shirley Bassey jewelry on 10 October in Paris.
Throughout her career, the renowned singer—whose career is unmatched in British music history in terms of longevity, fame, and esteem—has been collecting jewelry. Each a treasure up for auction is a tribute to Dame Shirley Bassey’s life experiences and memorable performances.
The collection, which will be auctioned off in Paris as part of the Fine Jewels biannual sale, will include more than seventy items from a variety of prominent jewelry manufacturers, including Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, that span different styles.
Since she originally performed the hit James Bond song “Diamonds are Forever” in 1971, Dame Shirley Bassey has been associated with diamonds, which are featured in the majority of the jewels presented.
According to Sotheby’s,
The Welsh-born British singer, whose immensely successful career has spanned over seven decades, is offering favourite pieces from her jewellery and watch collection for the first time at auction.
It is also mentioned that proceeds from the sale will benefit Dame Shirley Bassey’s chosen charities.
